He said it was a lie.

As if that weren't obvious from the moment he looked at me with gleeful anticipation.

A practiced lie. He doesn't come up with this sort of thing on his own so I'm left to believe a certain someone put the idea in his head.

He wanted a lesson, so I told him The best lies are always part true, gave him an example, and told him to practice.

Obviously he needs more practice. And probably a lesson on commitment to the bit.

Regarding the latter: I pushed his commitment to its limits. Not that it took much.

I should probably have told him to pick a fun lie rather than strive for believable. Sigh.

I found this lie extremely fun. If every lie is of this caliber I won’t complain.

I told him to insist he’s a vegetarian! That would have been fun for everyone.

That would make our hunting trips awkward.

I believe he's demoralized enough to give up the lying venture altogether.
