So, I saw you met one of the new recruits.

I did!

A Valkyrie from a different universe who happens to be a different me’s daughter. I’ll assume this is no surprise to you.

Brave, certainly! Intelligent as well, if I ignore the attachment to Odin.

I won’t pass judgments on another dimension’s Odin, though I’d like to. Though I’m not above assessing what she’s learned and opening her mind, if need be. Call it hubris or not wanting another Valkyrie repeat my mistakes.

I, on the other hand, will pass judgements on any Odin I please. I do also plan to explain my side if she’s curious.

For the moment she and I don’t seem to be at war, so I will take it.

Electing a hands off approach, then?

Not sure. I’m electing not to chase, certainly, but my brother informs me that I’m unapproachable, and I think I’m inclined to try and avoid that as well, just at the moment.

Just don’t give her a reason to believe you’re in need of slaying. Spare yourselves the grief.

I’ve managed to navigate Stark and Rogers, I think I can manage a teenager.

Somewhat, perhaps. A different universe is a different life, it shouldn't be that surprising that a different me found the prospect of pawns that can't disobey an attractive one. I'm not entirely sure what it means that the idea never occurred to me.

The smaller details are more surprising. That other me is married, for one. I can't even imagine it, that sort of thing has never been among my options.

I'm not against the idea in principle, but I learned quite a long time ago that certain things aren't really possible for me.

You say that as if you’ve been married before.

Not even close. It’s just logic - if the lead-up isn’t possible, the end result isn’t either.

Clearly some other version of you disagrees. Pity he's such a tool about it.

I find my way preferable to his, yes. I at least have some chance of being tolerated, if not much more.

I do hope none of my children from other dimensions show up. Can't help but get the feeling they'll be disappointed.

I think that depends on how much conservation of Valkyrie exists across universes. And how much said children take after you.

Not a prospect I'm eager to contemplate. His Majesty can concern himself with child rearing for the rest of us.

Entirely for the best, I agree. I’ve managed to go this long without inflicting my parenting on anyone, I’m inclined to continue the streak.
